Boston Light Swim

The Boston Light Swim is an 8 miles swim that begins in the water off the Boston Harbor Light House and ends at the L Street Bath House in South Boston. This swim is one of the oldest - it has been a tradition since 1907. I participated in the swim last year and thought it was not only a great swim in itself but also that it is a great training swim for the Channel. Last year water temperatures were in the high 50s and low 60s, the air temperature was between 62-66 degrees, winds were 12 knots and wave heights were recorded between 1.6 and 2 feet. My time was 3 hours, 42 minutes and 46 seconds.
